In the first single off the upcoming album "2776," a comedic concept album that looks at the first thousand years of America, Yo La Tengo performs a ballad about the impending "Toymageddon."

Check out the video below for the wildly fun video that stars "This American Life" host Ira Glass as a beleaguered Santa Claus facing his imminent irrelevance, and comedian Eugene Mirman as an overlord bent on ruining Christmas forever.

"2776," the brainchild of comedy writers Rob Kutner, Stephen Levinson and Joel Levinson, and whose proceeds will go to the charity One Kid One World, will release several music videos before the album's release date next July. Keep an eye out for further videos starring comedy and musical luminaries.

Huffington Post: D.C. Council Unanimously Approves Minimum Wage Hike

WASHINGTON (AP) — The D.C. Council has given preliminary approval to an increase in the District of Columbia's minimum wage to $11.50 an hour, one of the nation's highest.

The 13-member council voted unanimously Tuesday to advance the bill. It will have to clear one more vote before going to Mayor Vincent Gray's desk.

Huffington Post: Zoraida Sambolin Exiting CNN

CNN's Zoraida Sambolin is parting ways with the network, TV Newser reported Wednesday.

Sambolin announced her departure in an internal memo, saying that the decision comes after struggling with breast cancer this year. Her last day at CNN is Friday.

Sambolin, the host of "Early Start," revealed her diagnosis on the air in May and later underwent a double mastectomy. She kept viewers updated while on medical leave, saying that she was doing "great," and returned to work in August.
