KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — Uganda's president opposes an anti-gay bill passed by lawmakers that calls for life imprisonment for gays, even as he characterizes homosexuals as "abnormal" who should be rehabilitated, according to excerpts of his letter to the speaker of parliament.

President Yoweri Museveni's opposition to the bill comes despite pressure from evangelicals as well from lawmakers from his own party.

DALLAS (AP) — A North Texas man who paid $350,000 for the right to hunt an endangered African black rhino said he's had to hire full-time security due to death threats after his name was leaked onto the Internet.

Corey Knowlton told Dallas television stations WFAA and KTVT that he won last week's Dallas Safari Club auction to hunt a black rhino in the African nation of Namibia. The club says the permit was auctioned to raise money for efforts to protect and conserve the species.

Huffington Post: Pennsylvania Voter ID Requirement Struck Down

A state judge has ruled that Pennsylvania can't require voters to show ID at the polls.

Commonwealth Court Judge Bernard McGinley said Friday that the photo identification requirement at the center of Pennsylvania's controversial 2012 voter ID law "unreasonably burdens the rights to vote" guaranteed by the state constitution. He ordered the commonwealth to stop enforcing the requirement.

A coalition of civil-rights groups challenged the requirement in court last summer after Republican lawmakers passed it and Gov. Tom Corbett signed it into law in 2012.
