Starz's new original series "Black Sails" set a ratings record for the cable network nabbing 3.5 million viewers over the weekend.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Jan. 25 premiere of the pirate series was viewed by 850,000, but an additional 2.6 million watched the debut over the course of the weekend through on-demand, online and other platforms.
