Posted: 15 Mar 2014 08:34 AM PDT

Today, the 15th of March, is the third anniversary of the start of the Syrian uprising and marks a time for reflection on the four years and nearly 150,000 people lost to war.

What started as a series of peaceful protests amid the hope and fervor of the Arab Spring has now become one of the most horrific and intractable conflict in modern times. Huffington Post: Clueless Oil Man Accidentally Pitches Sierra Club On Drilling Scheme

Posted: 15 Mar 2014 08:42 AM PDT

Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune appears to have received quite the pitch this week.

Brune posted an exchange to Facebook on Friday that he had with an unnamed oil executive. The oil executive capped that explanation with the tip that "most people don't know this."

Earlier this week Swift's camp uploaded the hilarious video, in which her label boss Scott Borchetta calls her up but Swift is too "busy" to talk. What is she busy doing? Oh, girly things, like gossiping about boys, painting her nails and talking to her kitty cat, Meredith.

Totally on point, Tay!

Huffington Post: Gorillaz Alums Reunite At SXSW

Posted: 15 Mar 2014 09:04 AM PDT

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — For a guy who got his start in the '90s British rock 'n' roll scene, Damon Albarn sure knows how to throw a hip-hop party.

Albarn invited De La Soul and Del The Funky Homosapien to join him during his performance Friday night at South By Southwest, pulling off one of the bigger surprises so far at the annual music conference and festival. De La Soul joined Albarn for their Gorillaz collaboration "Feed Good Inc.," before Del came on stage to perform initial Gorillaz single "Clint Eastwood" for the first time since its release 13 years ago.
