In honor of "Muppets Most Wanted" hitting theaters, McGoiter performed "The Rainbow Connection," originally made famous by Kermit the Frog in "The Muppet Movie" in 1979. McGoiter decided to give the song a bit of a twist, however, by singing it in the voices of all the different characters.

Huffington Post: Florida Republican Fights To Keep Battlefield Focused On The Confederacy

When a group of residents asked to add a monument to Union soldiers at the site of the largest Civil War battle in Florida, neither they nor park officials thought it would be an issue -- after all, there are already three memorials to Confederate soldiers on the grounds at Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park near Lake City.

But Florida state Rep. Dennis Baxley (R-Ocala) responded to the idea by filing a bill that would strip park system administrators of the authority to approve historical markers and put that power instead in the hands of the Florida legislature.

Baxley, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, filed HB493 last week, and Republicans on the Agriculture and Natural Resources committee passed the bill 7-6 on Monday.

Huffington Post: Venezuelan Congress Says Maria Corina Machado Has Lost Her Seat

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — The head of Venezuela's congress says leading opposition politician Maria Corina Machado has lost her seat in the legislature and is no longer immune from prosecution for her alleged role fomenting violence in anti-government protests.

Diosdado Cabello said Monday that Machado violated the constitution by addressing the Organization of American States last week at the invitation of Panama, which ceded its seat at the Washington-based group so she could provide regional diplomats with a firsthand account of the unrest.
