A gay Canadian man is facing criminal charges after reportedly using pepper spray on a 14-year-old girl who was taunting his boyfriend for weeks.

As CBC News reports, Christopher Whittle was arrested at the Halifax Shopping Centre last week after spraying the teen with the irritant. Whittle, 39, now faces four charges, including assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon, and could be sentenced to jail if convicted.

Whittle argued that the girl (who has not been identified) had been frequently harassing his boyfriend, who works at the mall, with homophobic slurs before the incident.

Huffington Post: Aurora Theater Shooting Victims' Family Members Want Arbitrator For $5 Million Victims' Fund

AURORA, Colo. — Family members of some of those killed or wounded in the mass shooting at a suburban Denver movie theater want Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and other lawmakers to use their influence and move a $5 million victims' fund out of the hands of a private group.

They made the plea to have the money overseen by an independent arbitrator at a news conference Thursday that was markedly less emotional than one last month in which they demanded a say in how the $5 million is spent.

Nicki Minaj, that purveyor of sequel culture, is back with another sequel. Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up is a reissue of Minaj's 2012 album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (which took its name from Minaj's 2012 album Pink Friday), and the rapper has released the first single from the new-ish compilation.

Titled "The Boys," the new track pairs Minaj with Cassie. Minaj had previously teased Cassie's appearance on "The Boys," stating she collaborated with a "real pretty" female singer for the new tune.

Minaj recently made a splash on Twitter when she rapped what some felt was a pro-Mitt Romney verse on Lil Wayne's new song. That was debunked as sarcasm, but the lyric did draw a comment from President Barack Obama. ("She likes to play different characters," Obama said of Minaj.)

PHOENIX -- Some early risers across the Southwest saw a show in the sky, courtesy of missiles fired from New Mexico that left a brilliant white contrail.

The twisting cloud-like formation was visible in parts of southern Colorado, Arizona, Utah and Nevada just before sunrise and prompted hundreds of calls and emails to area television stations.
