Huffington Post: Valérie Trierweiler Drops By Dior Fashion Show After Busy Week (PHOTOS)

Posted: 27 Sep 2013 10:53 AM PDT

Valérie Trierweiler may have had a busy week, but she still makes time to fulfill her first lady duties, which include sitting front row at Paris Fashion Week's best shows.

We spotted the "first girlfriend" during today's Christian Dior Spring 2014 show seated in the elaborately decorated Musée Rodin. In typical Val fashion, the journalist opted for a simple black ensemble and her trademark bouncy (not ditzy-looking) hair. Considering the woman just made a quickie roundtrip to New York City this week to attend the UN General Assembly and hang with Michelle Obama, we're pretty impressed at how fresh-faced she looks. (We'd still be at home citing "jet lag" as an excuse to watch daytime television and eat dessert at inappropriate hours.)

But high profile appearances and fashion shows c'est la vie for a French first lady. Check out Valérie at Dior's front row below.

Huffington Post: 'Big Bang Theory' Takes On Man Boobs

Posted: 27 Sep 2013 10:54 AM PDT

The super megapopular "Big Bang Theory" returned for its seventh season yesterday, fresh off Jim Parsons's third Emmy win. But Parsons didn't actually have any big, weird moments on either of the back-to-back episodes last night; instead, Weirdest Silly Moment definitely goes to Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar. There's a marginally reasonable narrative explanation for why Howard and Raj are bare-chested and examining one another (it involves estrogen lotion and their long-standing vaguely homoerotic relationship), but the GIF of the shimmying and mutual palpating works better as a stand-alone piece. Enjoy, America!

Huffington Post: How Gay Journalist Plans To Work In Russia During Sochi Olympics

Posted: 27 Sep 2013 10:57 AM PDT

As current and former broadcasters ourselves, we have a soft spot for anyone in the industry. And by the industry, we mean of course, the business. Because there's NO business like show business. Matt Davies is Executive Producer for the BBC radio show, Sports World. The weekend programme boasts an audience of nearly 50 million listeners. Try that on for size, Don Cherry.

Matt is gay; he's headed to Sochi, and he'll be covering hockey (among other sports) at the Winter Games. He was good enough to talk to us about his background, coming out, working in a media environment dominated by straight guys and covering the Games and troubles in Russia. He's a great guy and a dedicated journalist. We look forward to his coverage from Sochi, and who knows, maybe someday he'll help us out

Huffington Post: Uncommon Ground To Brew Craft Beer

Posted: 27 Sep 2013 10:58 AM PDT

Uncommon Ground, recognized for having the two "greenest" restaurants in America, soon will be brewing its own beer. Owners Michael and Helen Cameron are adding Greenstar Brewing to their Wrigleyville location this December.

"We've wanted to add a brewery since the beginning of Uncommon Ground but never really had anywhere to do it, the space or the money," Mr. Cameron said.
