CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose says he's still recovering from knee surgery and vows to show sitting out last season was the right decision.

In an interview posted Wednesday on the team's website, Rose said he had to be selfish in his rehab as he tried to work his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee even though sitting out was "one of the hardest things I've had to go through in my life."

LA PAZ, Bolivia -- The European rerouting of the Bolivian presidential plane over suspicions that National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden was aboard ignited outrage Wednesday among Latin American leaders who called it a stunning violation of national sovereignty and disrespect for the region.

But as President Evo Morales arrived home after an unplanned 14-hour layover in Vienna, there was no immediate sign that Latin America anger would translate into a rush to bring Snowden to the region that had been seen as likeliest to defy the U.S. and give him asylum.

Three days after Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced her run for U.S. Senate, the Bluegrass State's only Democratic congressperson believes her incumbent rival is already loaded with fear.

Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) appeared on MSNBC Thursday morning, claiming Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is "scared to death" about the prospect of losing to Grimes.

"They're showing how much fear they have about this race because our airwaves are already crammed with negative ads," Yarmuth said, according to Politico. "We know he's scared to death."
