Huffington Post: Soledad O'Brien, Maryland State Senator J.B. Jennings Argue Over 'Unreasonable' Pop Tart Gun Bill (VIDEO)

Soledad O'Brien came down hard on legislation proposed by Maryland State Senator J.B. Jennings — which he introduced after a seven-year old was suspended for biting a pastry into the shape of a gun — on Monday's "Starting Point."

Jenning's proposed legislation would, absent an act of actual violence at school, prohibit students from being suspended for making hands or gestures resembling a gun. It would also prohibit students from being expelled for having something at school that resembles a gun but serves a different purpose.

On Monday, O'Brien said both the student's expulsion and Jenning's bill showed a "lack of flexibility" in how schools deal with small children. Jennings said that the bill would free schools from a "zero tolerance" policy, but O'Brien was still not convinced.

NEW YORK — Fans of Ellen DeGeneres' daytime talk show have reason to feel reassured.

Show producers and NBC announced Monday that "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has been renewed through 2017. Some 189 television stations, including the 10 owned by NBC, have committed to airing it.

As early as the 1950s, photographer Bruce Mozert went where no campy photographer had gone before, sealing his beloved camera in a handy water-proof case. Et voila! An underwater pin-up girl is born:

Mozert's shots feature Ginger Stanley, stunt actress in "Creature from the Black Lagoon," in astounding clarity while cavorting below sea level. According to the Photography Office, Mozert snapped the tantalizing shots in Silver Springs, Florida, where they were later picked up by MGM Studios.
