The "Steel Magnolias" remake, starring and executive produced by Queen Latifah, will feature an all black cast including Alfre Woodard, Phylicia Rashad, Jill Scott, Adepero Oduye and Rashad's daughter, Condola Rashad. The contemporary remake of the classic film follows six Louisiana women, M'Lynn (Queen Latifah), Ouiser (Woodard), Clairee (Phylicia Rashad), Truvy (Scott), Annelle (Oduye) and Shelby (Condola Rashad), as they go through life together. Scanning user data from last summer, Foursquare highlighted "check-ins mentioning fireworks as a percentage of total check-ins," revealing which cities had the highest proportion of pyrotechnic mentions. "The Amazing Spider-Man" pulled in $7.5 million from its debut screenings Tuesday just after midnight. According to distributor Sony Pictures, that matches the amount that "Spider-Man 3" took in from its first midnight screenings in 2007 on the way to what was then a record $151.1 million opening weekend.
