MEXICO CITY — Warner Bros. Pictures says it has canceled appearances by the cast and filmmakers of the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" in Mexico and Japan after a shooter killed 12 people and injured at least 50 Friday in a Colorado theater during a midnight premiere of the newest Batman movie.

The studio says actors Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon Levitt will no longer hold press or red carpet events on Monday at Mexico City's National Auditorium.

JAMES HOLMES, who opened fire before the midnight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises," could not have seen the movie. Like many whose misery is reflected in violence, he may simply have been drawn to a highly publicized event with a big crowd. In cynical terms, he was seeking a publicity tie-in. He was like one of those goofballs waving in the background when a TV reporter does a stand-up at a big story.

Huffington Post: Courtney Anthony Robinson Detained: Person Of Interest Brought In For LA Homeless Stabbings

LOS ANGELES -- Police on late Friday detained a person of interest in the stabbings of three Los Angeles-area homeless people in recent weeks, a man they say goes by a name signed on "death warrants" found with the wounded victims.

Courtney Anthony Robinson was taken into custody in the Hollywood area and was being questioned by detectives. Police have not called him a suspect in the case.
