It's difficult to believe now, but there was a time in my life when Adam Sandler was the nexus of my comedy universe. Just about everything I thought was funny revolved around the Bafoon, Tollbooth Willy, and Herlihy Boy. The teenage me revered him, which is why I struggle with 100% dismissing the guy despite all his recent efforts to convince me to do so.

Language can be a funny thing, and, as it turns out, book bloggers have a pretty good sense of humor, too.

Rebecca Schinsky of HuffPost Books content partner Book Riot, started a pretty amusing string of Twitter replies after publicly pondering, "If we're not supposed to call it a vagina, what *are* we supposed to call it?"

The associate editor was referencing news involving two female Michigan lawmakers who were banned from speaking on the House floor after making "emotional remarks" in opposition to an anti-abortion bill earlier this week.

NEW YORK -- U.S. Olympic track and field athletes will wear uniforms at the London Summer Olympics that Nike says could shave up to 0.023 seconds off 100-meter sprint times – a difference that could have elevated Walter Dix from bronze to the silver medal at the Beijing Olympics.

Dix still wouldn't have caught the fastest man in the world that day. Usain Bolt of Jamaica simply ran away from the field in the final, setting a world record that he would later break again.

Huffington Post: Brett Anderson, Fired New Orleans Times-Picayune Critic, Invited Back Following Mass Layoffs

What's going on over at New Orleans paper The Times-Picayune? Days after the publication announced the firing its award-winning food critic, Brett Anderson, along with a third of its total editorial staff, it's backtracking with an announcement that Anderson has been invited back.

Nola.com reports that Anderson, who had previously announced his acceptance of a fellowship with the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, has been offered a job writing about restaurants and dining for The Times-Picayune and Nola.com upon his return. The two entities are affiliated.

It's unclear if Anderson has accepted the offer.
