TAMPA, Fla. — When Mitt Romney addresses the Republican convention Thursday night, he'll do it from a stage that puts him a little bit closer to the crowd inside the convention hall. His campaign hopes the evening ends with Americans feeling a little bit closer to the Republican presidential candidate, too.

Huffington Post: CNN Camerawoman: Peanut-Throwing Incident At Republican Convention A 'Wake-Up Call'

The CNN camerawoman who was pelted with peanuts by attendees at the Republican National Convention said that the incident was disheartening, and that it should serve as a wake-up call to black people.

"I hate that it happened, but I'm not surprised at all," Patricia Carroll said to Journal-isms. "This is Florida, and I'm from the Deep South. You come to places like this, you can count the black people on your hand. They see us doing things they don't think I should do."

On Tuesday, two attendees were removed from the arena after they threw peanuts at Carroll, while saying to her, "This is how we feed the animals."

Huffington Post: Hurricane Isaac Deaths: Carlos Medellin-Guillen, Louisiana Man, And Mississippi Truck Driver Reportedly Killed

Carlos Medellin-Guillen, 36, died on Tuesday in Louisiana when he fell 18 feet from a tree he had climbed, the Associated Press reports.

His death was the first Louisiana fatality attributed to Isaac, which was then still a tropical storm.

According to the AP, Medellin-Guillen lived in Erath, a town of 2,100 in Vermilion Parish.
