Uruguay has an impressive GDP considering it's the second-smallest nation in South America, but its president lives more like a pauper –- on purpose.

Jose Mujica, 77, was elected in 2009, but he has no interest in taking on the grand presidential lifestyle. According to the BBC, Mujica donates 90 percent of his salary to charity and lives in a farmhouse off a dirt road where he and his wife work the land themselves.

The austere leader earns $12,500 a month, but only keeps $1,250 for himself, he told the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, according to a translation by Univision.

Huffington Post: Westland/Hallmark Meat Settlement Reached After Major Meat Recall

FRESNO, Calif. -- A landmark $500 million agreement was reached to settle a slaughterhouse abuse case in California that led to the biggest meat recall in U.S. history in 2008, an animal welfare group announced Friday.

The civil settlement with the owners of Westland/Hallmark Meat Co. is the largest-ever penalty for an animal abuse case, and the first time federal fraud statutes have been used, according to the Humane Society of the United States, the lead plaintiff.

After all, Barack Obama and even Paul Rudd got some, so why shouldn't Conan? Why shouldn't Conan?

Huffington Post: Son's Search Reunites WWII Soldiers

PHOENIX — Peter Huegel's photograph from 1944 shows Tony "Shine Boy" Rossetti in Belgium, holding a rifle and leaning against his jeep with his Army buddies, including Gregorio "Goyo" Basurto, a Tucson kid a long way from home.

The soldiers, including Huegel behind the camera, served together in the 502nd Quartermaster Car Company, which landed at Normandy a few weeks after D-Day and later made its way across the continent with the Third Army led by Gen. George Patton.
