After Superstorm Sandy barreled through the Northeast, one travel app was particularly well suited to offer relief to victims.

HotelTonight, a still-new mobile hotel booking app based in San Francisco, typically offers spontaneous hotel bookings. But in the wake of the storm, that idea went from fun to critically important for those living without power, heat or even roofs over their heads.

Instead of cashing in on the scramble for the limited availability at New York hotels -- a cut-throat game even without a disaster -- HotelTonight lined up more than 25 hotels that could donate rooms, more than 130 in all.

Lizzy Caplan has a ton of TV credits to her name including many, many canceled shows from "Freaks and Geeks" to "Party Down," but that has just endeared her to audiences even more.

While promoting her new movie "Save the Date" with a Reddit AMA, Caplan discussed her various TV roles and the much-hyped "Party Down" movie.

When asked about her four-episode "Freaks and Geeks" stint, Caplan said she couldn't take credit for how awesome the show was.

Huffington Post: Grenade Found At Detroit Police Station, Eastern District Evacuated

A citizen brought a grenade to the Detroit Eastern District police station on Gratiot Avenue and Gunston Friday afternoon, according to WDIV. The station has been evacuated.

No injuries have been reported, according to CBS Detroit, and traffic on Gratiot is being diverted to a side street.
