Huffington Post: Mob Tries To Set Bear On Fire In India (VIDEO)

An apparent attack on a bear in India, in which a mob tried to set the animal on fire, has prompted government inquiry into the incident.

Footage from the attack, which occurred in the Shopian district of Kashmir nearly a week ago, shows a bear desperately climbing a tree to escape the flames. It is poked by the mob with a burning cloth tied to a stick, according to India's NDTV. The bear reaches the top of the tree and cannot go any further, eventually becoming engulfed in flames, falling from the tree and escaping into the woods. Its fate is unknown.

Huffington Post: Laura Osnes, Broadway's 'Cinderella,' Preps Cabaret Show At New York's 54 Below

It's easy to see why Laura Osnes was plucked to star in Broadway's forthcoming "Cinderella," given that her own story seems to parallel that of a fairy tale heroine.

In the five years since she beat out six other contestants for the coveted role of Sandy in a "Grease" revival on the 2007 reality series "Grease: You're the One that I Want," Osnes has truly leapt to the top of Broadway's totem pole. The 27-year-old Minnesota native has managed to parlay that reality fame into acclaimed turns in recent productions of "South Pacific" and "Anything Goes," and was seen as a high point in 2011's otherwise underrated "Bonnie & Clyde," for which she received a Tony Award nomination.

But just before she steps into those iconic glass slippers in the first-ever Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" in January, Osnes has a few more surprises in store. On Nov. 27, she'll kick off a six-performance stint at New York's 54 Below, where she'll focus on music penned by composer Maury Yeston (Broadway's "Nine," "Grand Hotel"). Osnes' set will be seasonably appropriate, too, with Yeston's acclaimed song cycle, "The December Songs," as its centerpiece.

Princess Diana advocated for AIDS patients when no other royal figure dared to do so, and now her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, have vowed to keep their mother's mission alive.

The Terrence Higgins Trust, the United Kingdom's largest HIV and sexual health charity, recently marked its 30th year and rang in the milestone with a heartening letter from the royal brothers.

"Because our mother believed so passionately in the work of the Trust, we wholeheartedly congratulate you on thirty years of selfless service to others," the princes wrote.

In January, making his debut as Penn State's new head football coach, Bill O'Brien explained his understanding of his responsibilities ahead: "I'm in charge of this family, the football family... I know that I have a lot of confidence in my ability to lead us through what some people have called a tough time right now."

That was about two months after Penn State's leadership — administrative, athletic and otherwise — drew rightful criticism surrounding the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case. It was also about two months after Joe Paterno was fired, and plenty of alumni and former players alike were in no position to let him or anyone else forget that they still weren't happy about the late coach's departure.
