Huffington Post: San Francisco 49ers Winning Formula Is Dominant Defense, Plus More Dominant Defense

Posted: 06 Nov 2012 10:34 AM PST

The San Francisco 49ers are a storied franchise, owners of five Super Bowl titles -- a team once constructed on the innovative West Coast offense designed by offensive guru Bill Walsh. Joe Montana, Steve Young and Jerry Rice made the franchise famous for its fast-striking, super scoring ability, which shattered league records across the board. But times have changed, and the team hasn't captured a title since 1994.

The benefit was attended by about only about 25 people, among them various aristocrats, patrons of the arts, billionaires and us: a middle class couple from suburban New Jersey. It was, for lack of a better term, bananas.

Huffington Post: Maryland's Gay Marriage Law Gets Support From University Students

Posted: 06 Nov 2012 10:40 AM PST

A University of Maryland journalism student interviewed a number of classmates on the topic of same-sex marriage for a class project, and the results show some truly amazing support for the state's "Question 6."

"You don't ride to school in a horse and buggy, the times have changed -- you drive to school in a car," one student notes. "The rules that couples should be [heterosexual] are very archaic."

Benjamin Strack's project acts as an unintended counterpart to this series of photos, which depict Northwestern College students voicing their opposition to marriage equality.
