WASHINGTON — The vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee says the panel is scheduled to vote early next week on John Brennan's nomination to be director of the CIA.

Democratic leaders of the committee had hoped to hold the vote today. But Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., said Thursday that consideration of Brennan's nomination has been delayed because he and other committee members have not received all the information they've requested from the White House about lethal drone strikes against terror suspects and the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Huffington Post: Roosevelt Hotel's Racist Mural Offends Employee, Leads To Lawsuit (PHOTO)

An employee of The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans is suing her employer over a mural hanging in the hotel that depicts African-American slaves picking cotton.

Deandra Pitman, a 32-year-old African-American massage therapist at the Roosevelt, claimed in a lawsuit filed Monday that the hotel was violating her civil rights because its painting "creates a hostile work environment and subjects her to feeling demeaned and looked down upon," Courthouse News Service reported.

Huffington Post: Maryland Gun Control Bill Passes Senate

The Maryland Senate on Thursday passed a sweeping gun control bill that would give the state some of the country's strictest gun regulations.

The Baltimore Sun has details:

In a 28-19 vote, senators approved a plan to require a license to buy a handgun, limit magazines to 10 bullets and ban the sale of assault-style weapons. Maryland State Police would be empowered to audit gun dealers, and state rules limiting gun ownership for people with mental illnesses would be expanded. Other provisions increase the information sent to databases used for background checks.

CINCINNATI -- Tradition-rich UCLA and Louisville are taking on an unconventional look for college basketball's postseason: sleeves.

Adidas unveiled its new brightly colored, camouflage-patterned uniforms for six men's teams Thursday. Kansas, Notre Dame and Cincinnati will also sport the multihued shorts but will stick with sleeveless jerseys. Baylor will join the Bruins and Cardinals in wearing the short-sleeved top, which the company debuted with the NBA's Golden State Warriors earlier this month.
