Huffington Post: Sonia Dridi, Cairo Reporter, 'Savagely Attacked': France 24 TV Posted: 20 Oct 2012 10:36 AM PDT PARIS -- A correspondent for France 24 TV was "savagely attacked" near Cairo's Tahrir Square after being seized by a crowd, the network said Saturday. It was the latest case of violence against women at the epicenter of Egypt's restive protests. The news channel said in a statement that Sonia Dridi was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday after a live broadcast on a protest at the square and was later rescued by a colleague and other witnesses. France 24 did not give further details about the attack, but it said its employees were safe and sound, though "extremely shocked," and that it will file suit against unspecified assailants. David Correy, who will be competing with L.A. Reid's team in the top 16, has found his birth mother after his episode aired in Brazil. When he first auditioned for the show, Correy, 26, revealed that he was hoping his birth mother, who gave him up for adoption when she was 14 years old, would see his performances and know right away that he was her son. Huffington Post: Alex Kindopp, Iowa Mother, Says Teacher Instructed Students To Spit At Son Jaxon Posted: 20 Oct 2012 10:52 AM PDT A Shenandoah, Iowa elementary music teacher has been placed on administrative leave following an alleged incident in which the instructor encouraged her students to spit at a peer. Alex Kindopp tells KETV that it all started when her 9-year-old son Jaxon did a "raspberry," or sticking his tongue out and blubbering, at a classmate. Spotting him, the Shenandoah Elementary music teacher reportedly asked the boy how he would feel if others did the same to him. "Everyone gathered around me and she said, 'Ladies and gentlemen, spit away,'" Jaxon told KETV.
